PUPPETRY (6 mins) Netherlands Director: Camiel Schouwenaar Courtesy: Prix Jeunesse Suitcase Manipulated by two pairs of hands, a little man embarks on a big adventure – with books. The hands prod him on and make sure that he suceeds.
I liked the clippings “Puppetry” more than the film “Vote For Me”. The clipping tells us that even if you fail to do something, do not lose hope. It says that if a person has the ambition of doing something very much, he will surely be successful. In that clipping another thing was very attractive – the hands. It shows us the parents of the puppet and helps us to remember that even if you fail a hundred times, your parents are with you and will always help you.
bal vividha is an education fair to celebrate diverse approaches to learning. bal vividha was initiated 10 years ago in Mumbai by Comet Media Foundation, to create a common platform for educationists, teachers, parents, students and education policy makers. This education fair was brought to Kolkata in 2006 and renamed Harekarakamba. The Kolkata fair, Harekarakamba, is a collaboration between Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, Comet Media Foundation and Development Research Communication & Services Centre. Bal Chitrapat is a mini film fest at bal vividha, where the visitors are given a taste of films made for children all over the world. This year, (2009), it was decided that the film fest be delinked from the main fair and given a separate identity. We chose to call this festival of movies Shobdo Kolpo Bhrom.
